Many of our customers have asked whether or not natural hair can have split ends? The answer to this, is yes. This is certainly possible and caused by heat damage, from dryers or flat irons that are too hot.
It is really important to check your blow dryer and iron to make sure they are not too hot. We recommend that 185 degrees celsius on an iron is the temperature that is the most malleable for good straightening or curl results. Most hair tools are temperature controlled to a maximum of 185 degrees celsius.
Split ends can also be caused by having hair brushes that are too old and show signs of wear and tear on the bristles. Make sure your brushes and combs are not too old, always checking the quality of the bristles.
